Stephen T. Boone, Age 69

On Saturday, April 6th, Stephen T. Boone, loving husband, father, and grandfather passed away at the age of 69. Steve was born April 19th, 1949 to Bernard David and Betty Boone of Southern Indiana. Steve was a proud graduate of Flaget High School (1967) where he attained varsity letters playing football. Steve enlisted in the U.S. Air Force during the summer of 1968 where he served 4 years, attaining the rank of Sergeant while receiving an honorable discharge for services rendered. On July 28th, 1972 he proudly received the Air Force Commendation Medal. Steve earned his Bachelors of Business degree from Indiana University Southeast in 1977. Steve then worked in finance for over 36 years, while retiring in 2008 as President/CEO of The Farmers State Bank in Lanesville, Indiana after 16 years of service. Steve most enjoyed spending time with his family and grandkids, traveling with his wife, golfing, fishing and cooking for family and friends. He will be deeply missed by family, friends, and all those who knew him. Steve was preceded in death by his father, Bernard David Boone, his mother, Betty Boone (Hornung), and his sister, Carol Boone Ament. Steve is survived by his loving wife, Pamela Boone (Rudolph), his two children, Laura Boone-Laurice (William), Douglas Boone (Lindsey) and grandchildren, Miller Boone, Elin and Mila Laurice. Step daughters, Amanda Sanders (John) and Allison Schoen (Beth) and grandchildren Shane and Brynn Sanders. Siblings Patty Gardtner (Bill), Tommy Boone (Mary Pat), Jimmy Boone (Laura), Richard Boone (Cara), Donna Boone Francis, and brother-in-law Dan Ament. Steve is also survived by 17 nieces/nephews and 24 great-nieces/nephews. Memorial service will be held Friday, April 12, 2018 at 7PM at E.M.Coots’ Sons Funeral Home in Jeffersonville, Indiana. Visitation will be held from noon-7PM on Friday. As a military veteran, his ashes will be interred at The National Cemetery in New Albany, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hosparus.

    Our prayers go out to the entire family at this difficult time. Steve was a wonderful person and he will be greatly missed by all.
